Where does family fit into this whimness, or whimsy?

There is a prior question. Before you can know where family fits in you have to know who your family is. The reason I like the Mark 3 passage so much is that there Jesus asks the question explicitly. But this just means there are different senses of "family." How they fit together is a big question, an ongoing one. One we all take with us. Thanks for reading along, Ted!

I am here in the audience, and I hear you. The pushing out of the inherited outfit sounds....uncomfortable, but worth it.

Real nice. Powerful call to self-choosing- but it's hard and often unpleasant when someone else comes into their own in a way that is uncomfortable to us- maybe that's why parenting is so hard haha. On that moment when we come into our own- hearing the call that's quiet and broken at first- makes me think of the song "One Flight Down" by Norah Jones: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56RJ0AKtpv0.

Thanks, DB! Someone "coming into their own" - what a beautiful idiom, a poem built into our language. Yep, I think you hit the nail on the head there regarding seeing or letting it happen and especially parenting. Probably as much of a process as is coming into one's own. And awesome! Thank you for the song.
