Hi friends and readers,
Thank you for following my old project, Footnotes. This project has not been updated in several years and is in fact, let’s say, officially defunct. But I want to invite you to continue reading my writing in my new project.
I’m living in a Buddhist intentional community in Echo Park, Los Angeles, called the Sangha House. (“Sangha” is the Sanskrit word for community.) The house has been in the works for a year and last month we moved in together. Exciting times. Our group is in the Plum Village tradition, the Buddhist lineage founded by Thich Nhat Hanh. Several of us in the house are aspirants, i.e. on the path to become lay monks in the order. I’ll write regular updates and reflections about our project, alternative community, Buddhism, and the spiritual journey.
Here are a few links. If you’re interested, please take the opportunity to subscribe.

A reflection on silence and our first meditation
